Bought 04 Apr 2007 – book sale table at work
Back again to third wave feminism with yet another Virago. This one chronicles what had not been done up to then – the everyday life, frustrations and experiences of motherhood. It seems a bit done-to-death these days, but this really was a big step forward at the time. Lovely to hear the history of the first consciousness-raising groups etc – how I wish I’d been older and able to experience all that upswell of feminism myself.
Keeping the flame alive, though. I hope.
PS I’ve worked my way through a number of smaller books this week, so be prepared for an onslaught of reviews!
