12 December 2011 was my last day in my old office. So today is semi-officially the first day of my second year of full self-employment, although I was still employed and paid by the University until 31 December, so there will be another celebration on 1 January. Happy days! How long have you been at it … or how long have you to go until freedom?
You can read all about my journey to full-time self-employment on this blog, and I’ll be publishing a book about it in the New Year!

Thank you! I’m working hard this week to complete all my projects so I get a break, although I do want to finish off writing a new e-book and do a bit of reading for my research … I’ll only get a cold if I stop completely! Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Congratulations, Liz. You should be proud of your accomplishments. I have been freelancing for almost six years and have loved every minute of it. I wish you peace, wealth, and happiness.

Thank you, Cassie – I am indeed proud of myself, and I’m proud that I’ve done a decent job and behaved decently and stuck to my values, too. It’s good to hear from people who’ve been out there longer – I’ve been freelancing since August 2009 but full time since December 2011!
