Daphne du Maurier Reading Week 8-15 May 2023 Book reviews

A dedicated page for #DDMreadingweek 2023 – links will appear throughout the week – and for a short time after. I am hosting this list for Heaven-Ali – you can find out more about DDM Reading Week 2023 here and will hopefully already be following her blog for her posts.

This year, Ali has read I’ll Never Be Young Again and Myself When Young, and has re-read Rebecca, and I have read The Parasites.

Remember to check out the hashtag #DDMreadingweek on Twitter or Instagram to see what else readers are sharing.

    Here’s my review of I’ll Never Be Young Again – I was a wee bit ambivalent, I’m afraid… https://kaggsysbookishramblings.wordpress.com/2023/05/12/the-pompous-mouthings-of-my-hero-ddmreadingweek/

Not even late, it runs until today, and I’ll be adding any in the next week too because I know how it can be! Excellent choices and unique for this iteration of the Week, too!

Hello Liz, a little bit late, but I have also finished The Glass Blowers. If you want to add the link, pls do so. Link here: https://www.thecontentreader.com/post/the-glass-blowers-by-daphne-du-maurier

I also read earlier The Parasites, link here: https://www.thecontentreader.com/post/the-parasites-by-daphne-du-maurier

I did like the last book better this time around. Much better indeed. Not irritated at all at the characters. Maybe in my mature life, I understand different kind of characters better. At least one hope so.
Really loved the DDM reading week.

Glad you saw that was already there, I did a list whereas last year Ali did more of a narrative.

Ah, the two biographical works – they look really interesting but I haven’t read them yet. Maybe one for next Reading Week!
